CONNECT2Careers (C2C), San Diego County’s youth employment program, has began another stellar season with renewed support from the City of San Diego and Mayor Kevin Faulconer. This summer, Mayor Faulconer’s One San Diego 100 initiative has teamed up with C2C to offer more young adults valuable paid work experiences. One San Diego 100 is looking for one hundred businesses to offer ten jobs/internships each to young adults for a total of 1,000 new opportunities added this summer. The employer investment in giving young people these opportunities today is crucial in creating our region’s talent pipline for tomorrow.
“America’s business leaders, large and small, must be a part of the solution to bridge America’s skills gap,” says Faulconer. “It’s why I’m launching the One San Diego 100 — a campaign to unite 100 local businesses to hire San Diego high school and college students.”
C2C is poised to support One San Diego 100 employers by acting as a one-stop, no-cost employment agency for businesses looking to hire. Become a part of the One San Diego 100 and the team will work with you to fill your job and internship openings with pre-screened candidates. Plus, One San Diego 100 employers receive assistance from a job developer throughout the summer, the option to host custom recruitment events and program participation recognition. In addition, C2C can handle all employer of record responsibilities, including payroll, worker’s compensation, and more — making it easy for companies to work with young adults.
General Dynamics NASSCO, SDG&E, Sea World and Sharp Health Care have all signed on as One San Diego 100 employers. C2C is currently recruiting small and large businesses to take part in the initiative. If your business is interested in hiring, please fill out and a job developer will contact you shortly.
